take up thy cross

Let Me Bare thy Cross

I walked one day on a country road, and there a stranger journeyed too

Bent low beneath the Burdon of his load, it was the Saviors cross I knew.

Oh let me bare thy cross dear Lord I cried and low a cross for me appeared,

The one forgotten I had cast aside, the one so long that I had feared…

Take up thy cross and follow me I heard my blessed Savior call,

How can I make a lesser sacrifice when Jesus paid his all?

My cross I’ll carry until my crown appears, the way I journey soon shall end,

When God him self shall wipe away all tears and friend will fellowship with friend.

Take up thy cross and follow me I heard my blessed Savior call,

How can I make a lesser sacrifice when Jesus paid his all?
